Who I am

I am a freelance computer programmer, living in Warsaw, Poland, currently aged 25.

What I do

Programming

These days, I tend to write most of my software in Common Lisp and Clojure, though I also feel comfortable in a number of other environments. See my CV for details and the outline of my professional career (it's a little outdated at the moment, sorry).

I wrote and maintain a number of open-source libraries, most of them MIT-licensed:

I am slowly writing Spleen, an engine for Scrabble and similar word games.

In the past, I've maintained and written the majority of code for Poliqarp, the corpus search engine used by the IPI PAN Corpus and the National Corpus of Polish. I wrote my master's thesis about Poliqarp, and am a co-author of a number of papers concerning it. See below for the list of my writings.

I've also made minor contributions to a number of open-source projects, including Drakma and CL-SOAP.

Web pages

I've created and maintain these Web sites:

I've also contributed a file upload engine to the website of Aula Polska.

Translations

I am interested in poetry, especially poetic translations. From time to time, I try my hand at translating English poetry into Polish. This is my collection of translations:

Presentations

This section aggregates slides from presentations I give.

Scrabble

I am an avid Scrabble player. I occassionally take part in Polish Scrabble tournaments and frequently play online (mostly the free literaxx ;-) variant); you can check my official and online ratings. My greatest achievement in tournament Scrabble to date is qualifying for the quarterfinals in 2008 Cup of Poland.

I own a collection of Scrabble sets from around the world, including British, American, Russian, Czech, Dutch, German, Spanish, Norwegian and two Polish versions. Yes, I plan to learn all these languages some day, so that I can play well :-)

Occassionally, I also write Scrabble-related software.
